Bright supplied biogas upgrading technology for Wabico, located in Waalwijk the Netherlands. An impressive project, where in addition to biogas upgrading (and its upgrades), Bright also ensured the upgrade of the CO2 liquefaction technology. The biogas upgrader at Wabico is a PurePac Grand and the annual renewable natural gas production is equal to the annual gas use of 8,500 Dutch households.
Evolution of Wabico
The biogas facility has been producing biomethane with our biogas upgrading technology since 2015. Over the years the plant underwent multiple upgrades in technology. All these expansions were achieved without disrupting the continuous biomethane supply.
Technical aspects
Add-on technology CO2 liquefaction
In addition to biogas upgrading technology, Bright upgraded the CO2 liquefaction technology at Wabico in early 2024. CO2 liquefaction technology is an essential add-on technology for any biogas upgrader. Thanks to this upgrade and the utilization of CO2 as a refrigerant, the overall sustainability and bio-CO2 production of the system has increased.
