From the Netherlands to New Zealand: Bright Renewables expands its global footprint

20 May 2026
Good technology travels well, and that has just been proven again. We have delivered a biogas upgrading installation in New Zealand, bringing our proven renewable gas technology to yet another corner of the globe. While every new installation is a milestone in its own right, this one carries extra significance. It marks our arrival in New Zealand, extending our reach far beyond our European roots and into the Southern Hemisphere. But more than that, it reflects something larger: a growing global footprint built on technology that works, and on clients around the world who continue to choose us to deliver it.

Proven technology, new geography

Biogas upgrading is at the core of what we do. By converting raw biogas into biomethane of pipeline or transport-fuel quality, our installations help turn organic waste streams into a genuine renewable energy source, one that can be injected into the gas grid, used as vehicle fuel, or applied directly in industrial processes. The technology behind this New Zealand installation is the same technology that has already proven itself across dozens of projects closer to home. Now it’s doing the same work on the other side of the world.

Why this matters

Renewable gas has a role to play in the energy transition wherever organic waste is generated, and that is not limited by geography. New Zealand’s agricultural sector, much like farming and food industries elsewhere, produces exactly the kind of feedstock that biogas upgrading technology is built to handle. Delivering a project there shows that our solutions are not just viable in the Netherlands or the wider European market; they are viable anywhere the right feedstock and the right ambition come together.

Looking ahead

This project in New Zealand is not a one-off. It is a signal of where we are headed: further afield, into new markets, with the same commitment to reliable, high-performing technology that has defined our work so far. From the Netherlands to New Zealand, and wherever comes next, we are proud to keep bringing renewable gas technology to the places that need it.
