Virtual Pipeline Successfully put into Practice at RNG project in Dane, Wisconsin (US)

5 June 2020
At Bright's renewable natural gas project in Dane, Wisconsin (US) the virtual pipeline technology has successfully been used for the first time since the recent commissioning of the project. The RNG has been transported to a nearby gas entry point.

At a virtual pipeline, the gas is compressed to a high pressure. At the project in Dane the renewable gas is compressed to 3,000 PSI, which is approximately 200 bar. This enables the gas to be transported to a remote facility with grid entry point where the gas is injected into a gas pipeline. An ideal solution when no pipeline or grid infrastructure exists at the production location.
