Inauguration Biomethane Plant at WWTP ‘De Groote Lucht’ in Vlaardingen

The biomethane plant, engineered and supplied by Bright Biomethane, at Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) ‘De Groote Lucht’ in Vlaardingen, has officially been inaugurated today. The plant was festively opened with a mini-symposium and several speakers.

With the Bright Biomethane biogas upgrading system, Delfland Water Authority – one of the 21 Dutch water boards – will be annually upgrading 1.8 million Nm³ biogas produced from sludge to 1 million Nm³ biomethane. This biomethane will be fed into the national gas grid. The biogas upgrading system is placed in a compact container of 40 ft. and has a capacity of 350 Nm³/hr ingoing biogas using proven membrane technology.

Energy Neutral

Delfland has the ambition to become energy neutral by 2025. With this biomethane installation, the Delfland Water Authority wants to even go beyond energy neutrality and wants to supply green energy to third parties.
